Brokerage Structures 
Since 2004, the University of Palermo has joined the following consortia with a prevalent aim of technology transfer:
- National Interuniversity Consortium for Bio-Oncology
The institutional purpose of CINBO is to carry out research and training in the field of oncology applied to the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of human tumors.
- Interuniversity Consortium for Organ Transplantation
The institutional aim of the consortium is to form a working group capable of developing and extending research on organ transplants, also with the aim of involving and training young graduates in the difficult surgical discipline.
The Department is committed to developing and strengthening relations with the institutions and bodies that support research and teaching, particularly developing its role as a cultural agency in the area.
Scientific and student exchange agreements are active with the following Italian institutions and universities:
- ISMETT, active from 5 December 2019
- Department of Health and Child Sciences Policlinico Universitario Gemelli, active from 17/12/2018
- Department of Oncology, University of Turin, active since 11/30/2018.
Third Party Activities
- Agreement signed with Merck Serono S.p.A. entitled "Determination of the status of the K-RAS gene ...", which, for the two-year period 2015/2016, determined a taxable turnover of € 36,950.00 for the department..
