PhD project title and a short abstract
The project aims to investigate the training method of classical dance in combination with the study of foreign languages to codify a non-pharmacological and educational method, with long-term effects, aimed at children and adolescents with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The project will be carried out in three phases. In a first exploratory phase, we will try to establish contacts with Ballet Academies in Italy and in the European territory and investigate the hypothesized similarities between young people who studies dance in the age group between 10 and 18.
In the second phase, we will investigate on emergent key conditions for the achievement of well-being and we will systematically observe the training methods to codify a non-pharmacological and educational method aimed at children and adolescents with ADHD.
In the third phase we will experiment the codified method in primary/ middle school classrooms that include students with certified ADHD or who present evident attention deficit and/or hyperactivity. This phase will be carried out in collaboration with the teachers of the school who will make themselves available and who will be given initial and ongoing training. During the experiment, both quantitative and qualitative survey tools will be used to thoroughly investigate the phenomenon.
The non-pharmacological and educational methos is expected to generate long-term effects in the subjects involved in the experiment in improving executive functions, promoting their well-being and that of their families, preventing the consequences of ADHD throughout life and becoming a valid contribution to the well-being of society.
