Abstract
Contaminazioni simboliche is the first volume of the new series entirely devoted to the Annals of the International Centre for Semiotic Sciences (CiSS) of Urbino. Since its foundation at the end of the 1960s, the CiSS has published a conspicuous number of Working Papers drawn up by scholars in the humanities and social sciences counted among the most prestigious of the second half of the 20th century. Bringing together the historical Documents, the Annals now report the outcomes of the activities that the Centre organises. The result of the seminars conducted in 2020, this volume includes contributions of considerable semiotic interest, with, among others, the signatures of: Dario Mangano and Franciscu Sedda, who in the first part (re)begin to interrogate the concept of symbol; Roberta Bartoletti and Tiziana Migliore, who in the second part think about the science of body-to-body relations as the pandemic is bringing them to the surface; as well as Gianfranco Marrone and Paolo Fabbri, who in the third part investigate, starting from Lyotard's reflections on postmodernism, the meaning of the post- particle applied to phenomena so different as to nullify their meanings. In the appendix, a text by Philippe Hamon closes the collection, a masterful testimony of the contribution that CiSS has made - and wants to continue to make - to a theory of signification with a scientific vocation.
