Enrolment procedures for EU Foreign Students
Applicants for master’s degree programs must have obtained a bachelor’s degree that is the result of at least 3 years of study. Depending on the program of interest, applicants will need to demonstrate their possession of specific academic requirements to guarantee they are adequately prepared to undertake their studies at the master’s level.
The procedures described here are for the following categories of international students only:
- Citizens from European Union Member States;
- Citizens from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Swiss Confederation, Republic of San Marino and the Holy See;
- Foreigners already officially residing in Italy as expressly indicated in Art. 39, comma 5, of Legislative Decree 286 of 25 July, 1998.

1 Registration on the Unipa Student Portal

2 Starting the Enrolment application

To enrol: you must start an enrolment application on the Student Portal. Please follow the instructions in the Tutorial.
a Personal Knowledge Interview
After starting the enrolment and once you get the admission letter, you will be contacted by the course coordinator to complete the "personal knowledge interview". Your application will be suspended waiting for the confirmation of the course coordinator. The interview aims to highlight critical skills, maturity, expectations, motivation and overall personal preparation. The concerning Commission will also evaluate your English language skills. You will find extra tips on the official page of the course you have chosen. Passing the interview will allow you to complete the enrolment application on Unipa portal.
b Payment of tuition fees
Foreign students, with a resident family abroad, pay tuition fees according with the following option:
Tuition fee adjusted to the family’s economic situation (isee parificato)
1. Fixed Fee: €156 (€140 Regional Tax and €16 duty stamp);
2. Variable Fee: Amount calculated based on the student's declared income. To utilize this option, foreign students with a resident family abroad must provide certain financial documents (ISEE PARIFICATO):
- Family income from 01/2022 to 12/2022
- Family bank account statements until 31/12/2022, and personal bank account statements in Italy if applicable until 31/12/2022
- Family status of 2024 (number of members)
- Property papers of 2024

3 Enrolment finalization
Deadline: consult the table above for the dates
Once you are done with the portal application, it will be automatically blocked. This is a normal procedure since the enrolment now needs to be finalized. In order to finalize your Unipa enrolment you must submit the following documents in original at the International Students Office (Viale delle Scienze, Building n. 3, I floor) within the deadline:
- your Bachelor’s degree in original and its Italian or English legalized translation
- The Academic Transcript of Records issued by your university, stating all the courses and grades and its Italian or English legalized translation.
- The Declaration of Value (DoV) issued by the relevant Italian consular section or a Statement of Comparability and Verification from CIMEA or a Diploma Supplement
- ARDI - Statement of Correspondence and Verification from CIMEA
Bachelor’s degree (free access)
Applicants for bachelor’s degree programs must have obtained a secondary school diploma after having completed at least 12 years of schooling.
Important Deadlines AA 2024/2025
To enroll to a Free access Bachelor's Degree Course the following steps must be followed:
1 - Registration to Unipa Student Portal ***
- Registration could be done at the page Unipa Student Portal (For technical support, please contact supportosia@unipa.it)
2- Enrolment Request Application (Deadline: TBD)
To enroll, you have to submit an enrollment application on Student Portal. Please follow the instructions in the TUTORIAL.
3 - Enrolment Finalization (Deadline: TBD)
After the previous step, your enrolment application could be continued and you can proceed to enrolment fees payment.
To finalize the enrolment at the University of Palermo, you have to provide to the International Students Office (Viale delle Scienze, Building n. 3, I floor) the following documents at your earliest convenience after you arrive in Italy:
- Your original High School Diploma translated into Italian or English and legalized.
- One of the following Documents:
Bachelor’s degree (limited number access)
Applicants for bachelor’s degree programs must have obtained a secondary school diploma after having completed at least 12 years of schooling.

To enroll to a Limited access Bachelor's Degree Course the following steps must be followed:
1- Registration to Unipa Student Portal ***

2- Application submission for Call for Participation
Deadline: the deadline of the call for participation depends on the chosen course. Please read the call/application carefully.
Before enrolling in a limited number access Bachelor's Degree course, you must participate in the Call for Participation.
3- Starting the Enrolment application
Deadline: Varies depending on the chosen course
To enrol, you have to submit an enrolment application on Student Portal. Please follow the instructions in the TUTORIAL.
4- Enrolment finalization
Deadline: Varies depending on the chosen course
After the previous step, you can continue your enrolment application and proceed with the payment of the enrolment fees in order to finalize your enrolment at the University of Palermo.
To finalize the enrolment at the University of Palermo, you have to provide to the International Students Office (Viale delle Scienze, Building n. 3, I floor) the following documents at your earliest convenience after you arrive in Italy:
- Your original High School Diploma translated into Italian or English and legalized.
- One of the following Documents:
