Remote access
To have remote access to the subscribed digital collections (databases, scientific journals, e-books) you need to belong to the academic community, therefore to possess your UniPa institutional credentials.
You may log in directly on publishers’ platforms, by entering your UniPa credentials and choosing, among available options the "via Institution" or “Shibboleth” access, “federazione italiana IDEM” and then “Università degli studi di Palermo”.
Some platforms enable remote access exclusively via VPN: L’Annéephilologique, MathSciNet, OECDiLibrary, De Jure, HeinOnline Core Collection, Infoleges + ArchivioDo.gi, LexisNexis Academic, Scifinder, Ulrich’s web and JSTOR.
In this case, you need to install the VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your device, following the instructions for the configuration here.
The connection to the VPN enables remote access to all the contents of digital collections.
Access to digital collections is always possible through:
- PC workstations available in the libraries of the University and in the campus
- The connection with personal devices, to the WiFi UniPa or Eduroam network, typing personal institutional credentials.
- Any external device (e.g. from home or through smartphone) through IDEM-GARR/Shibboleth o VPN
