Innovación en la difusión del patrimonio: el paisaje cultural de Erice (Sicilia)

Abstract

This intervention highlights the experience, begun in 2001, of valuing the historical-artistic ecclesiastical heritage of the churches of Erice, a small Sicilian city with a very ancient foundation but with a medieval architectural/urban identity. The exhibition of works of art of various kinds in specially dedicated spaces in numerous local churches is an opportunity to encourage visitors to create a path not only of knowledge, but also of experience, which allows them to enjoy the entire town, its suggestive streets, the surrounding landscape, without underestimating the gastronomic and wine delights. A winning experience, based on self-financing, on the conservation of artistic heritage, to which great attention is paid for its maintenance and restoration. A management model that has become a school in Sicily.
