ARCHITETTURE DISMESSE: RAPPRESENTAZIONE E VALORIZZAZIONE

Abstract

The starting point of this brief study is the knowledge of an industrial complex known as the headquarters of the former Federazione dei Consorzi Agrari, built between 1938-40 in Catania by architect Francesco Fiducia. The study and enhancement of disused and abandoned architectures implies a multidisciplinary approach in which architectural history, conservation and representation can play a decisive role. Through a reflection on the meaning of knowledge, preservation and protection, the contribution aims to propose, by means of digital representation techniques, new possibilities for the fruition of an architecture no longer accessible but of great value for the history of the city of Catania.
