Abstract
Effectively navigating the complexity of learning in the 21st century requires innovative and adaptive approaches to education. When combined with Augmented Reality (AR), Embodied Learning approach takes on new dimensions creating immersive and interactive educational experiences. In addition, the potential benefits in terms of engagement, understanding, and skill development make it an exciting frontier for enhancing the educational experience in Initial Teacher Training. This study explores the intersection of Embodied Learning and Augmented Reality (AR) through the lens of future pre-primary and primary teachers at University of Palermo in the a.y. 2023-24. The research aims at exploring the perception of future teachers on the use of augmented reality experimented with Microsoft Hololens headset, to determine whether embodiment processes actually occur during an immersive experience, a prelude to subsequent mind-body interactions in the learning process. The very first results highlighted how the majority of participants positively evaluated the experience within the immersive environment, recognizing its potential in promoting active, engaging, authentic and experiential learning.
