Abstract

In 1970 he published for the series Gli Sstrzzi Einaudi la Gerusalemme liberata by Torquato Tasso told by Alfredo Giuliani. With a choice of the poem. The project responded on the one hand to the publisher’s request to offer the general public of non-specialist readers a classic not easy to read, which has been abandoned from school, and on the other was in line with the experimental vocation of Group 63, of which Giuliani was part as a poet and as a critic. The essay reflects on the importance of the twentieth-century rewritings of the classics both for the history of their different interpretations over time and for that, no less important, of their use in school.
