The educational and research offerings of the doctoral program are structured and consistently available across all active cycles. The program includes both cross-disciplinary training activities delivered through a multidisciplinary approach and specific training activities chosen by the students based on their research interests and lines of inquiry.

The cross-disciplinary component focuses primarily on the development of knowledge and skills related to qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, scientific article editing and proofreading techniques, open science tools, scientific communication, and data analysis techniques.

The specific training component is aimed at developing knowledge and skills in the main areas of exercise and sports sciences, biomedical sciences, psychology, socio-pedagogical and educational sciences. These activities are designed within the research framework of the SPPEFF department’s laboratories, such as: posturology and biomechanics; functional assessment; biochemistry; genetic evaluation related to sports performance; neuropsychology and neuroscience; behavior observation and human development research; clinical and group psychology; educational research and digital technologies; human rights and democratic coexistence; social research methodology; inclusion, equal opportunities, and gender policies.

These activities will be complemented by seminars, workshops, and lab sessions led by high-profile scholars from prestigious international institutions.

Interdisciplinary training is further ensured through educational activities offered by the university’s doctoral school, other doctoral programs, and stakeholders outside the academic sphere who are involved and interested in the research process.
