Roberta Bardelli, born in Reggio Emilia in 1988, graduated at the University of Salento with a Master’s degree in Coastal and Marine Biology and Ecology in 2017, with a thesis about the distribution of two invasive crabs, Callinectes sapidus and Portunus segnis. After graduation she did an internship at Filicudi Wilde Life Conservation for monitoring of dolphin’s population of Stenella coeruleoalba and the rescue of sea turtles Caretta caretta.

Since April 2020 she is a PhD student in Earth and Marine sciences of the University of Palermo. Her research project is focused on the invasive species Callinectes sapidus. In particular, studing, both in native and invaded area, the biogeographic distribution, the environmental niche and, throughout the stable isotopes analysis, the trophic niche.
