Advance Notice on Enrollment for Open-Access Master’s Degree Programs

The Vice-Rector for Teaching Affairs has brought forward the enrollment period for open-access Master's Degree programs. For the 2025-2026 academic year, students can begin the enrollment process, including the verification of criteria and basic knowledge, as early as January 20, 2025.

The first interviews will take place from February 25 onward. Students who apply for verification (i.e., start the enrollment process) will be promptly informed by the Coordinator about the interview dates and the English language test schedule.

The interviews will be conducted online, are free of charge, and non-binding.

Admission Requirements for the Master’s Degree Program in Neuroscience

To be admitted to the Master’s Degree Program in Neuroscience, applicants must meet the curricular requirements established by the Teaching Regulations of the program, as outlined in the SUA-CdS (Single Annual Course Sheet).

Applicants are considered to meet the curricular requirements if they hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following classes:

  • Class 1 (Biotechnology) and Class 12 (Biological Sciences) (D.M. 509)
  • Class L-2 (Biotechnology) and Class L-13 (Biological Sciences) (D.M. 270)
  • Or an equivalent degree obtained abroad, recognized as eligible

Students with degrees in fields other than Biology may also apply provided they have obtained an adequate number of ECTS credits (CFU) in specific subject areas deemed essential for the study of biological disciplines within the Master's Degree Program.

Credit Requirements

Applicants must have earned at least 60 CFU in the following subject areas:

  • At least 24 CFU in the following scientific-disciplinary sectors (SSD):
    BIO/01, BIO/02, BIO/04, BIO/05, BIO/06, BIO/07, BIO/09, BIO/10, BIO/11, BIO/14, BIO/16, BIO/17, BIO/18, BIO/19; MED/01, MED/03, MED/04, MED/07, MED/08, MED/26, MED/36, MED/37, MED/39, MED/48

  • At least 18 CFU in the following sectors:
    FIS/01-FIS/08, INF/01, ING-INF/05, MAT/01-MAT/09, CHIM/01-CHIM/12, SECS/01 or SECS/02, INF/01, ING-INF/05, MPS/02, MPS/03

Evaluation of Individual Curricula

Candidates who do not fully meet these curricular requirements will be subject to an individual evaluation of their Curriculum Studiorum. If necessary, they may acquire the missing CFU before enrollment by taking individual courses and passing the corresponding exams.

Enrollment for the First Year of the Master's Degree Program

Enrollment for the first year of the Master's Degree Program is open from January 20, 2025, to November 28, 2025, with the MANDATORY PAYMENT OF THE FIRST INSTALLMENT OF TUITION FEES AND THE COMPREHENSIVE CONTRIBUTION.

The enrollment process will be halted at the stage requiring the Coordinator’s approval. Students can proceed with validation and fee payment only after passing the interview.

Interview Dates for the Assessment of Admission Criteria and Personal Preparation for the Master’s Degree in Neuroscience:

  • February 25 at 9:00 AM
  • March 25 at 2:00 PM
  • April 22 at 2:00 PM
  • May 27 at 2:00 PM
  • June 24 at 9:00 AM
  • July 22 at 9:00 AM

If you already possess an English language certificate at the B2 level, such as the Cambridge First Certificate, you may be exempt from taking the English exam. However, the office will verify the authenticity of the certificate.
