How to retrieve the WOS code of a scientific contribution
Connect to the Clarivate Analytics site from the University network or in VPN mode, proceeding as follows:
- Access the Web of Science database: http://webofknowledge.com/
- Look for the scientific contribution within the database with the usual search methods
- Click on the title to open the full description screen of the publication
- Look for the “Accession Number” field, eg: WOS: 000405163400009
- The ISI code of the contribution corresponds exactly to the string of characters indicated above, including the wording "WOS:" eg. WOS: 000405163400009.
How to retrieve the Scopus code of a scientific contribution
Connect to the Elsevier site from the University network or in VPN mode, proceeding as follows:
- Access the Scopus database: http://www.scopus.com
- Look for the scientific contribution within the database with the usual search methods
- Click on the title to open the full description screen of the publication
- Check the web address bar of the page (top): the URL takes a form of this kind, e.g .: https://www.scopus.com/record/display.uri?eid=2-s2.0 -85019622664 & origin = resultslist & sort [etc.]
- The Scopus code of the contribution is the string between the words “
eid=”
and the “&”
character (in the example above, therefore, it corresponds to “2-s2.0-85019622664”)
