Abstract
Mediterranean architecture, through its millenary history, expresses itself even through particular handmade that deeply characterized the country. The building treasure inside the Islands surrounding Sicily presents particular techniques and building systems that exploiting natural resources gave life to the original handmade and building technologies which are extremely functional and valuable in terms of eco-sustainability. Talking about architecture in Pantelleria means discovering ancient links about materials, techniques and the landscape. The Island is famous for its "Dammusi" (and "Palazzetti"), interesting handmade both for their morphological characteristics and for their technological - building ones. These handmade are "Dammuso" itself thanks to a typological survey and a technological - building one. Such study arise from a research that gets to the building typologies and building techniques classification, starting from the individuation of the handmade (often integrated and sometimes turned unrecognizable by the expansion building industry).
