Abstract

The article focuses on the women condition in the ancient Greek, particularly in Athens. Starting from the analysis of two concepts: identity and difference, is possible to understand how women, smartly to be considered "other", are put out the public space, and trapped in a private space, as slaves and children. This strategy has justified women's subalternity along time.
