Abstract
In this paper, a novel type of frequency tapering for a Ring Bar Slow Wave Structure (RBSWS) is presented. The proposed conical cut structure works from 19.3 to 20.3 GHz, under an operating voltage and current of 19.8 kV and 0.3 A, respectively. Simulation results, carried out by CST Studio 2023, show that the introduction of the conical cut made it possible to increase the peak output power by a factor of 25–35 % with a maximum electronic efficiency of 15.3 %. The novel proposed conical cut allows to obtain an RBSWS structure with a higher maximum output power.
