Abstract
This essay explores the art of Ebru as a metaphor for Sufi mysticism. The traditional Turkish art of paper marbling, known as Ebru, is analyzed in terms of its symbolic representation of Sufi principles and teachings. The intricate process of creating Ebru, which involves floating colors on water to create unique patterns, is paralleled with the spiritual journey of a Sufi practitioner. Through this artistic medium, the essay highlights themes of transformation, the interplay of chaos and order, and the pursuit of inner peace and unity with the divine. By examining the spiritual significance and historical context of Ebru, the essay demonstrates how this art form embodies Sufi metaphors and serves as a vehicle for expressing mystical experiences and insights.
