Figli adulti di divorzi ostili

Abstract

This paper offers a review of the literature related to the short and long- term effects of marital divorce on adult and young adults children. International research on the consequences of divorce on the psychological well-being of children has often overlooked the impact that this event and the changes associated with it could have on adult children life and choices. The experience of being “caught” in the marital conflict seems to have long-term outcomes and to influence the relationship with the father and mother differ- ently. The article, through a clinical exemplification, also focuses on the conse- quences of divorce on the quality of the adult children couple relationships and describes some types of intervention.
