Abstract

Doubts regarding the birth of the Qumran community have given rise to various hypotheses over the decades. This article takes into consideration the hypotheses of Solomon Steckoll and Silvio Barbaglia on the origins of the Dead Sea community by comparing them with each other and with the most accredited hypothesis by scholars, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses.
