GERALDINE QUARTARARO

Aymara Collection of Geraldine Quartararo

Abstract

The contents of this collection pertain to Aymara, an indigenous language spoken in the Andean Plateau. The data included in this collection were gathered for the purpose of investigating evidentiality. The collection comprises 15 recordings, which have been categorized into three distinct groups. The first group encompasses audio recordings, transcriptions, and corresponding translations of the semi-structured task entitled "Family Problems Pictures." The second group consists of audio recordings, transcriptions, and relative translations of another semi-structured task called the "Pear Story." Lastly, the third group contains audio recordings, transcriptions, and relative translations of interviews, narratives, and traditional tales. Both the "Family Problems Pictures" and the "Pear Story" are designed as semi-structured tasks specifically created to stimulate the expression of cognitive processes. This material is based on three fieldwork initiatives, two of which received support from the Helge Ax:son Jonsson Foundation. The three fieldworks took place in February 2014, between September and December 2014, and in May 2015.
