Abstract
The contribution presented at the conference sets out some reflections on the possible contacts between the Theatine architect Guarino Guarini and Borromini's project for the chapel of the Three Kings of the Propaganda Fide college in Rome, frequently indicated by historiography as a possible reference model for the dome of Sant'Anna La Royale in Paris and the Teatini’s house of Saint Vincent in Modena. the research has verified the chronologies referring to the Borromini construction site and Guarini's travel itineraries and the possible contacts between the biographies of the two architects, demonstrating how it is rather unlikely, or practically impossible, that Guarini could have known the Borrominian project. it was also demonstrated how Guarini's design choices could refer to many other architectural models made in Italy, which the architect from Modena certainly knew.
