Leggere la disabilità. Dalla marginalità al mito dell'inclusione

Abstract

The intention of this essay is to reflect on the relationship between disability, marginality and inclusion, against the background of some of the different configurations that it has assumed in the children's fairy tale, and which still continue to modulate in the current prospect. A critical exploration of two different representations of disability to identify not only a plurality of humiliated, misunderstood, and abandoned childhood portraits but above all to intersect the representative construction of the symbolic imagery of diversity. The aim, therefore, is to verify through Gian Porcospino and Pollicino the contradictory aspects that determine the inclusive process: a state of permanent lack that invites without accepting and that lets come without welcoming. But the intent is, beyond all, further: to solicit a language of existence that gives confidence, guides, and comforts.
