Italian Criminal Justice and Sexual Offenses

Abstract

The paper deals with the main issues concerning sexual offences, in the light of the Italian legislation and case-law. Among others, central points involve the disparity between the number of sexual offenses actually committed and those recorded, as well as between reported sexual offenses and the low rate of conviction. Specific references to judgments of Italian and supranational Court aim to make the examination more clear and complete.
