Rehabitar simulacros literarios. "El caballero encantado" de Galdós

Abstract

El caballero encantado. Cuento real…inverosímil (1909) by Galdós settles between parody and pastiche and is structured through hypertextuality. In fact, beyond the cervantine prototype and in closer connection with the same chivalry books, the novel could be revealed as its semantic transposition with satirical intent, or its stylistic imitation. From this hypothesis of study, it will be tried to demonstrate how Galdós, passing through the quixotic recovery of the hypertextual literary process, makes it possible to create a nineteenth century gentleman and a novel that, within the modernist trend of the dissolution of the genre, it is able to introduce cultural heritage into new systems of meanings, filling in a new sense a literary simulacrum.
