Abstract
Between the 16th and the 17th century Europe saw the release of an immense amount of architecture prints pursuing a practical purpose : we are dealing with models for a public of professionals and architects. Though the importance of the phenomenon has been underestimated by historiography, it reaches a noticeable size in geographical areas usually considered peripheral such like Sicily. Nowadays the digital filing systems can provide a fundamental instrument for a deeper understanding of both the users’ behaviour and the assimilation/selection mechanisms orienting the professional practice.
