Abstract

The eighteenth century represented for the Italo-Albanian communities a long period of negotiations, changes, adjustments, and concessions in the religious, social, and cultural fields. It is during that century, in fact, that, among other things, the Greek-Albanian Seminary of Palermo was founded. This institution would be responsible for the education of generations of Arbëreshë for the following two centuries, and not only. Its administrative and cultural activities are preserved in its archive and library. The latter, in particular, besides reflecting the studies conducted within the Seminary, also mirrors the socio-cultural relationships of the communities, expressed through the circulation of books. This contribution publishes in full the first catalog of the library of the Greek-Albanian Seminary, and its transcription is preceded by a contextual note.
