Un giardino lineare su via Terracina

Abstract

The urban plots and the orographic system that structure the project area build the palimpsest on which the ‘linear garden’ proposed by the design group is developed. The new public space is open to the city - residents, students, visitors of the Mostra d'Oltremare, tourists -, and extends along via Terracina for an extension of about one kilometre and is mainly on two different levels: the urban one and the lowered one in which the archaeological remains of the Roman era are located. In the re-design of the northern edge of the Mostra d'Oltremare, new functions for public use are located, according to the new design, and various vegetation systems are identified, some of which pick up on the lines of the laurel bushes sculpted using topiary art.
