The study examines the turbulence and changing directions of European consumer law as environmental sustainability becomes a focal point of European market policies, embracing the advantageous viewpoint on the topic of planned obsolescence in products, especially in Internet of Things. The research seeks to verify the existence and effectiveness of consumer protection remedies against such practices, considering the initial jurisprudential decisions and numerous legislative measures at European and national levels, as a first milestone in developing a regulatory model for sustainable consumption
