Abstract
Visual art, based on optical-perceptual experiences, took on the form of an artistic movement in the mid-1950s and was very often conceived and developed in the fields of architectural research, design and graphic design. It manifested itself in the connotation of 'programmed art' which, with the intervention of the viewer or the author himself, can be modified according to a set 'programme', substantially assimilating itself to kinetic art and experimenting with the phenomena of visual perception and movement.
