Abstract
Power amplifier design is one of the interesting issues in radio frequency science. Optimizing a power amplifier can improve the efficiency of a transmitter. In this paper, a novel method to optimize PA based evolutionary algorithm was presented for wireless applications. The proposed method used Gray Wolf Optimization as a robust algorithm to find the best values of the microstrip lines in the structure of a PA. After optimization, harmonic balance simulation was applied to validate the proposed algorithm. Simulation results have shown an average of PAE higher than 50%, an output power above 37.5 dBm and the input and the output return losses lower than -10 dB over the frequency range of 2.4-3 GHz.
