ANDREA LE MOLI

Pensare in radice. Per una storia della filosofia vegetale

Abstract

Philosophical botany is a field of study in rapid expansion and characterized by a wide range of problems and a great variety of approaches ranging from ontological to ethical themes up to technological-environmental issues. This contribution seeks to reconstruct the main current trends in the light of their relationships with classical and contemporary thought to arrive at the possibility of modifying the traditional image of thought in the light of the comparison with the cognitive, communicative and behavioral strategies of Plants. From a style of thought typical of animal corporality, characterized by inside/outside, front/ back and all/part dynamics, one could point, with the help of a new “vegetal” way of being, to a new image of thought built around the concepts of radiality, total exposure and radicality.
