Myeloid and Lymphoid Disorders in Geriatric Patients

Abstract

The growing expectancy of life is one of the main contributors for the increasing number of older patients with hematologic malignancies. Geriatric patients with myeloid and lymphoid disorders benefit from diagnostic imaging in staging and response evaluation to therapy; also diagnostic imaging helps in their frailty assessment. In patients with myeloid disorders, the role of diagnostic imaging is often to find indirect signs and complications of diseases. For staging and response assessment in patients with lymphoma, staging systems and dedicated criteria have been developed, particularly the most recently proposed Lugano classification. This chapter aims to describe radiological findings of the main myeloid and lymphoid disorders with special regard to geriatric patients.
