Abstract

The Author makes some critical observations and suggests a new interpretation concerning the introduction of Ulpian's commentary to the edict on the pacta, from the point of view both of textual criticism and substantial profil in the field of natural law, equity, agreements, with an examination of the cultural and philosophical origins of the conceptual construction of Ulpian.
