Abstract
The concept of wellness is inextricably linked to the concept of knowledge information and participation and, without them, people cannot effectively exercise their rights, especially in the delicate post-pandemic phase to which is added the fear caused by the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Paper deals with the theoretical and value-related foundations of practise communities, with a particular focus on lifelong learning, and illustrates a practical experience, still on-going in the city of Palermo, where the abovementioned approach is applied to all generations, for the sole purpose of educate them, ensuring people the right to information and participation within the community. The conclusions will show a new development model based on lifelong learning and education as a common good so to create the conditions for a social, economic and environmentally sustainable development in society. A model of thinking about the future in time and acting in the present.
