MATTEO DI FIGLIA

La guerra civile del fascismo

Abstract

Between 1919 and 1922, Italy was shaken by a high degree of social and political violence. Especially from the end of 1920, a significant part of this violence was dispensed by fascist squads. Can that period be called a civil war? What weight did that experience have in fascism's conquest of power? What memory did the fascists retain of that violence when they represented themselves as guardians of order?
