3D Printing for Whole Body Reconstruction

Abstract

Three-dimensional printing and rapid prototyping have also had a notable impact in reconstructive and surgery of the body. Reconstructive surgery of large portions of the body represents a very complex challenge for surgeons. The thorax, abdomen, or limbs have a complexity of structures and pathologies that the three-dimensional printing has been able to reproduce with increasing fidelity, helping doctors both in the planning phase and in the surgical phase.
