Abstract

The essay examines the measures undertaken both at EU and national level to face the needs of work-life balance. More speci&cally, the paper analyzes the main provisions introduced by EU Directive 2019/1158 on the balance between private and professional life, as well as the subsequent Italian regulatory framework with particular reference to the rules carried-out during the epidemiological emergency: the Author highlights how work-life balance policies have effects not only on female employment but also on the distribution of care burdens between men and women and, consequently, on gender equalit
