Abstract
The essay describes the design of the exhibition Palermo Liberty: The Golden Age, held at Palazzo Sant'Elia (Palermo) in 2024. The main theme of the project was to harmonize the late-Baroque architectural palace with the Art Nouveau forms of the materials on display, using elements of 20th-century Italian exhibition design traditions, updated with the inclusion of new technologies. In order to reinforce the idea that the objects on display are not to be looked at only in their singularity but in their overall relationships, Staging the exhibition Palermo Liberty. The Golden Age at Palazzo Sant’Elia proved that the visitor can reconstruct the interior spaces in a sort of mental reassembly between image and space, with scale and figuration.
