Abstract

Some specific experiences in which a dwelling simultaneously hosts inhabitants, masterpieces, and strangers who temporarily pass through it can be considered a paradigm of that hybrid space that the traditional home is transforming into - a meeting platform, a refuge within which one attempts to domesticate the world rather than exclude it. These are museum houses where the spirit of a famous person does not linger through whose objects we can recognize collective values. Instead, the inhabitant - a collector, philanthropist, aesthete, artist – lives alongside muses in an observatory that takes on public significance, as it is also dedicated to hospitality and debate.
