Calogero Cucchiara graduated in Civil Engineering in 1997 at the University of Palermo, and he was a PhD student at the same university in 1997. In 2001 he completed his PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Palermo (DiSEG). In 2006 he became an Assistant Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Palermo. He is the co-author of 40 papers regarding: - seismic vulnerability of monumental buildings; mechanical behaviour of masonry structural elements (walls and vaults), unreinforced or reinforced using a technique based on the application of fiber reinforced polymers materials (CFRP strips); interface behaviour of bonded CFRP-calcarenite stone joints; mechanical behaviour of fibrous concrete beams under flexure and shear; local bond –slip behaviour in lightweight fiber reinforced concrete; Structural Glass.
