«… Il tamburo di Lucano». Leopardi lettore della Pharsalia

Abstract

After having rapidly reconstructed the reading of Lucan between the 18th and 19th centuries, the contribution focuses its attention on the presence of Pharsalia in Leopardi’s production. The article tries to reconstruct from which moment Leopardi shows a direct knowledge of the epic poem and focuses on critical judgments expressed on several occasions, especially in the Zibaldone.
