Rivoluzione o Provvidenza? Una lettura politica della libertà a partire da Rosmini

Abstract

In this paper, the value that Antonio Rosmini’s works preserve is studied in order to understand the philosophical premises of modernity as a condition for identifying the different visions of politics and the exercise of power that develop among the ideologies of the twentieth century. His reflection, rethought by Augusto Del Noce, becomes a significant moment in the context of Christian thought, because it allows us to link past and present through the background of his political vision in a philosophical key. Rosminian political meditation, compared with Alexis de Tocqueville’s analyzes of democracy, becomes a main way to connect the ideas of Catholics with those of liberals, seeing the points of contact starting from the value attributed to the person and to freedom.
