1848,1860,1943. Storie di distruzioni e ricostruzioni nel sito del Monastero dei Sett’Angeli di Palermo

Abstract

The contribution focuses on the Monastery of Sett’Angeli in Palermo, which was located on the eastern front of the Cathedral square and which was demolished following the heavy damage suffered during the Insurrection of May 1860. The Monastery was also affected by two other significant war events: the anti-Bourbon revolts of 1848 and the air raids of 1943, which hit the refuge that had been created in the basement. A virtual three-dimensional reconfiguration of the lost architecture has been made, anchored to a survey of the current state of the places.
