Abstract
A cardiac-valve prosthesis, comprising: an armature (2), adapted for deployment between a contracted position and an expanded implantation position; and a set of leaflets (3) coupled with said armature (2) for deployment therewith between the contracted position and the expanded position, the set of leaflets (3) defining, in the expanded position, a flow duct for the blood, which is selectively obstructable by the set of prosthetic valve leaflets (30) as a result of the reversal of the direction of flow of said blood flow, wherein the armature (2) comprises: an external portion (5), adapted for deployment to enable the anchorage of the cardiac-valve prosthesis at the implantation site; and an internal portion (6), which supports said prosthetic valve leaflets (30); said external portion (5) and said internal portion (6) being substantially axially coextensive with respect to one another.
