Abstract
In this paper, we present the development and optimisation of an Extended Interaction Klystron (EIK) operating in the Ku-band. We have analyzed cavity stability by developing a MATLAB code based on space charge theory, which allows automatic calculation of the beam quality factor. Our Particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations of the Ku-band EIK with a three-cavity ladder-type (LT) structure showed significant performance, with a peak output power of 3.1 kW, a gain of 23.15 dB and a -3 dB bandwidth of 110 MHz.
