POST-DOC POSITION
Post Doctoral Research Associate in single molecule force spectroscopy AFM at Queen Mary University of London (deadline extended to 23rd March 2015)
We wish to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work in the research group of Dr. Arianna Fornili in the School of Biological and
Chemical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London for the study of the mechanical properties of proteins of the cardiac muscle using AFM
single molecule force spectroscopy.
This appointment forms part of a larger project funded by the British Heart Foundation in collaboration with Dr. Sergi Garcia-Manyes and Prof. Franca
Fraternali at King’s College London, where single molecule force spectroscopy and in silico simulation methods are combined to study the
mechanical properties of myosin-associated proteins that have a role in the regulation of heart contraction. In particular, the protein
mechanical stability will be tested with pulling experiments to be performed in the Garcia-Manyes lab at KCL.
You must hold a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in Physics, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or relevant discipline and have an
established track record of success in high-quality original research.
Closing date of the application: 23rd March 2015.
