International trade relations: US-EU-China

Students of the Master's Degree LM56 and LM77 are invited to attend the seminars on "International trade relations: US-EU-China", given by
Prof. Justyna Wieloch (University of Lodz, mail: justyna.wieloch@uni.lodz.pl). The seminars will be online through Teams and the link is: https://bit.ly/3FSjy34 (code: nkdm37g)

Lectures will be held on Monday, 23 May, eg. at. 9:30-11, 11:15-12:45 and 13:15-14:45, while the online exam will be held on Tuesday, 24 May at 9:30.

The students of the Master's Degree in Economic and Financial Sciences (LM56), in order to get recognized 1 CFU, need to pass an exam. The students taking the exam have to provide to the lecturer both the university code (numero di matricola) and the name and surname.

The seminar aims to introduce the students to the trilateral economic relations between EU-USA-China and the topics discussed are:

    4. Current situation- data for trade and FDIs
    5. Consequences of the trade war
  2. 11:15 - 12:45
    EU - China trade
    1. Background of EU-China trade relations
    2. EU-China trade in goods, services and FDIs flows- historical and current data
    3. One belt one road initiative – the concept, opportunities and threats
    4. Perspectives for the future cooperation
  3. 13:15 - 14:45
    EU - USA trade
    1. Background of EU-USA trade relations
    2. Trump presidency effects on bilateral trade and FDIs. Declarations vs real data
    3. Polarization in the EU-USA relations: Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership vs potential trade war
    4. Perspectives for the future cooperation
