Faculty of Science
LM-74 – GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY
LM 64 – SCIENZE E TECNOLOGIE GEOLOGICHE
Educational Objectives – Professional Opportunities for Graduates
The course is divided into various curriculum strands which offer students the opportunity:
- to acquire a thorough grounding in the field of analysis, interpretation and tri-dimensional modelling of the geological status of the territory and adjacent sea;
- to deepen their understanding of predictive models relating to possible risky/dangerous geological phenomena such as eruptions, landslides and hydro-geological instability and earthquakes.
Students will also develop the necessary competences for the analysis and modelling of geo-environmental systems and processes, the evaluation and management of geo-resources, the evaluation and prevention of cultural heritage degradation, as well as for the evaluation and control of volcanic activity.
Some examples of career options are:
- Geologist;
- Palaeontologist;
- Geophysicist;
- Hydrologist;
- Earth sciences Researcher/ Technician.
Upon graduation students will be able to work not only as private practitioners, but also within public and private companies.
