Educational objectives – professional opportunities for graduates

This single-cycle five-year Degree Course in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies provides graduates with the necessary scientific grounding to work in the pharmaceutical industry and in healthcare production at large. The course is designed to provide students with advanced theoretical and practical training in all the sectors of the multidisciplinary process starting with the design of potentially active molecules and leading to the synthesis, experimentation, registration, production, control and marketing of drugs, according to the regulations of the Italian and European Pharmacopoeias.

The course provides a high-quality training for the profession of Pharmacist at local or hospital level, and an ability to apply the knowledge and competences to consultancy, divulgation and drug distribution.

2nd cycle graduates in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies are healthcare professionals who contribute to the achievement of the objectives set forth by the National Healthcare system to respond adequately to the changing needs of society in the field of their multidisciplinary, that is, chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, pharmacological, toxicological and technological, competences. Moreover, the qualification for the profession of Chemist enables graduates in Pharmaceutical chemistry and technology to register in section A of the Italian register of Chemists (D.P.R. 328, 5/6/2001).

The course is designed to prepare students for the following professions:

 • Chemist;

 • Chemical researcher;

 • Pharmacist and similar professions;

 • Researcher and graduate technicians in chemical and pharmaceutical sciences.
