Course "Creative Thinking for Innovation" - 25-27 March 2025 - Room USCR Building 9
The course "Creative Thinking for Innovation" aims to analyse the human cognitive skills and how those can be influenced by internal or external factors that can either support or undermine the individual ability in decision making, problem solving and generatinginnovative ideas.
Starting with the attempt to define innovation, invention (patent) and creativity, we will try to distinguish between creativity and intelligence passing through the role of unconscious in the creative process.
Openness vs “fear of unknown” and “intolerance to uncertainty” will be compared in order to deal with the psychology of motivation and its role in individual creativity. Moreover the role of the constraints on creativity and the influence of social organization on individual creativity will be analysed.
Finally the course aims to analyze the Human Creativity as emergent behavior of a Complex System, providing the interpretation of the chaotic characteristics of the human creativity from the perspective of the Complex System Theory.
The lecturer of the Course will be Ing. Francesco La Rosa (ST Microelectronics).
